Client Update: Eyes on Broadway Up For 7th WW Reader's Poll Win!

No question Eyes On Broadway is the best eyewear shop in Portland. Having won the Willamette Week Reader’s Poll 6 years in a row, and now up for their 7th victory, locals have certainly shown their hand in terms of who they prefer when it comes to stylish frames and lenses. Of course, Eyes on Broadway is more than just a place to get glasses (or sunglasses), rather, their four eye doctors on-staff make it a one-stop-shop for getting set with the proper prescription through to picking a great new look.

When we took over the Eyes on Broadway account, well, 6 years ago, it was a stated goal to win this award and went after it we did. Pumping up the website with a new look, optimizing it for SEO, we helped this client gain real traction in PDX and build a solid set of readers through its blog. That first WW victory came fast and whet the appetite for more. Well, I guess we get to take a victory lap along with them as while their following has grown, so has their distance from the competition.

One of the keys to success for Eyes on Broadway has been the use of its blog to light up, prop up, give press to (however you want to term it) myriad complimentary businesses throughout Portland. The goal here has been simple: promote nearby companies that fit the buyer persona of typical Eyes on Broadway clientele. Notify these businesses of this free press, provide a link to the story (which they GREATLY appreciate), and let them post it within their social media circles. As the link gets pushed well outside of Eyes on Broadway’s blog and website, all link (backlinks) lead back to the Eyes on Broadway website. Exposure. Exposure.

In a most recent example, a bog post was done on eem, Portland’s best location for Thai BBQ. The 2019 Winner of Portland’s Best Restaurant, eem is stunning in its fare and packed with culinary talent.
